Effortlessly fashionable and classic New York, the Upper East Side is the most exclusive and luxurious neighborhood in Manhattan. Affluent New Yorkers have flocked to the Upper East Side since the late nineteenth century. The Upper East Side Historic District, from 59th to 78th streets, between Fifth Avenue and Third Avenue, is filled with mansions and townhouses, originally constructed as single-family homes. In the 1930’s and 40’s, as the city grew and living conditions changed, equally lavish apartment building were constructed. The impressive façades and neatly trimmed trees lining the Upper East Side illustrate the luxurious tone of this historically chic district.
