Located off the lobby of the Wythe Hotel in North Williamsburg, the Reynard transports you out of hipster Williamsburg and into an elegant brasserie in the heart of a restored factory building. The grand dining hall with a soaring rafted ceiling and mosaic-tiled floor can be lively, but perfect for the solo diner. Owned by Andrew Tarlow, who helped develop the Brooklyn dining scene, the food is chic farm-to-table, all made in house in a kitchen built so that almost everything can be cooked with fire. The daily changing menu boasts salads that are filling and satisfying while the oven-roasted seafood is mesmerizing. Grab a seat at the bar or one of the café-style tables near the restaurant’s entrance and enjoy a bespoke cocktail, most likely shaken with a locally distilled liquor, or a glass of wine perfectly paired with your dining selections.
