Estela is a lot of fun. It’s a bit cramped and at times noisy but it you get there on the early side and get a seat at the bar you won’t be disappointed! The crowd is a mixture of hipsters and execs with a few neighborhood regulars thrown in. The bartenders will make a terrific cocktail of your personal choice if you prefer and the wine list is terrific, thanks to Thomas Harris, sommelier and co-owner. Thomas is terrific, warm and welcoming, feelings that really flow through the entire Estela experience. The food, created by co-owner and chef,  is mostly small plates from which you can enjoy a range of distinct tastes and flavors. If you want a carefree evening drop into Estela and see who you meet!

The interior of this acclaimed restaurant, which made it onto The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list this year, resembles an understated cafe with exposed brick and wood floors. The (mostly small) plates are all listed on the a la carte menu, and are a lot more complex and adventurous than the space in which they live. Chef Ignacio Mattos creates clever, mediterranean-inspired dishes that balance multiple yet distinct flavors and textures. His pure approach to cooking results in plates that bring out profound flavors while maintaining a light simplicity using fresh market ingredients. We haven’t tried everything on the menu, but we hear they are all amazing. The celebrated beef tartar includes sunchoke, which adds a subtle crunch, and the creamy burrata is balanced in a fresh, light green sauce. Pair these with the great wine selection brought to you by sommelier Thomas Carter. You'll feel right at home in the good hands of the friendly staff as the air fills with a light buzz.
