Across from Bar Boulud is Boulud Sud, Daniel Boulud’s restaurant dedicated to refined Mediterranean dining and fronted by a new “épicerie” parlor selling coffee, classic pastries, and sandwiches. The dining room towards the back resembles a small museum, with a high arched ceiling and paneled walls decorated with photographs bathed in bright provençal colors inspired by painters like Van Gogh, Matisse and Cézanne. The white linen tables are set with yellow napkins and green water glasses, matching the colors seen in the photographs. The small tables are set close to one another so you will never feel alone dining here. The menus are broken down into sections: “from the garden.” “from the sea.” “from the farm”—there is a dish for everyone!
