We all know that bread and wine can be a perfect pairing, Batard takes its name from a small French baquette as well as Batard Montrachet a Grand Cru Burgandy. Interestingly Batard’s home is the third incarnation of the restaurant impresario Drew Nieperont, originally the home of Montrachet then Corton, both famous wines with each iteration building upon the other. Batard’s cusine is meticulous in its preparation and presentation. Its seasoned attentive staff is on par with what you would find in more formal dining experience yet wrapped in a very relaxed environment. They have recently started serving the full menu at the very small bar in the front, overseen by a top-notch bartender. The menu, which gives the option of two, three or four prix fixe options,  was created by Marcus Glocker who garnered a Michelin star within weeks of Batard’s opening as well as its continually celebrated wine list.
