Founded in 1852, the V&A is grand in both its space, which covers 12.5 acres, and its strong collection, which consists of over 4.5 million objects that spans across all of history and all of the world. The collection focuses heavily on decorative arts and objects, and also holds a superb collection of fashion items. One can easily spend the entire day browsing its endless galleries, attending a wonderful guided tour and taking a break with a coffee in V&A's lovely garden.
The current temporary exhibition, “Undressed: A Brief History of Underwear”, is up until March 2017 and explores the history of underwear design from the 18th century to the present. The lingerie is beautifully displayed and explores underwear's relationship with fashion and its role in molding the body.
