There is no doubt that your mother or grandmother – or even you – owned a scarf designed by Vera! When we think of her name, the bold lines and color come to mind. Her career spanned over 50 years with her fresh, energetic, bold designs which touched generations of well-dressed women.

The Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) is opening an exhibition celebrating Vera’s design career with over 100 pieces in the form of including original works on paper, textiles and garments, archival photographs and videos, having captured a mass market way before social media and the internet.

The exhibition, Vera Paints a Scarf: The Art and Design of Vera Neumann, will also present ephemera related to the company’s marketing campaigns, which ingeniously used the tagline “Vera paints” to promote the label.

ALIX has put together a wonderful evening beginning with a tour led by the exhibition’s curator Elissa Auther, followed by dinner at Robert on the top floor of the museum. We know how much our members and guests enjoy these museum evenings and we hope that you will be able to join us!
