It is rare to feel as welcome and relaxed in a large bustling TriBeCa restaurant as one does when entering Tamarind. This high-end kitchen serves upscale versions of classic Indian dishes with a wine list that complements the aromatic food. The large soaring space is airy and open, and one never feels alone, as new guests are treated as regulars. If you are looking for more privacy, a series of booths, camouflaged by dropping curtains, are ideal. However, if you are in the mood for more action, a handful of small tables upstairs on the mezzanine are an excellent choice, providing a view over the dining room, as if towering above a little city.
