SEVEN DIALS
London WC2H 9HA, UK
Seven Dials is a site at which seven streets converge and serve as a link to Covent Garden Soho. Its history is rich, dating back to the early 1690s, when its owners at the time issued building licenses as a way of maximizing their income in what was the transition from open farmland to the birth of the West End. There were originally six streets and a seventh was added to allow for even more buildings to be built.
Over the years it has had many ups and downs as captured by Charles Dickens' Sketches by Boz and Agatha Christie’s The Seven Dials Mystery. Today it is a lively meeting place, a busy lifestyle hub and home to some of London’s best restaurants like The Ivy and global luxury brands.
