Philadelphia Art Tour
April 24th – 25th, 2026
optional overnight stay
This Philadelphia Art experience trip will be especially unforgettable as it coincides with America’s 250th anniversary, featuring special exhibitions and commemorative programming at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and Independence Hal. The second day of our tour will also feature special visits to The Barnes Foundation and The Institute of Contemporary Art.
FRIDAY, APRIL 24 - Day One
Our day will begin in New York and we will travel via luxury transport to Philadelphia after light breakfast at Daily Provisions at 78th St. and Amsterdam Ave.
Philadelphia Museum of Art
Once at The Philadelphia Museum of Art, we will follow a guided tour of A Nation of Artists which unites collections from the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and the Middleton Family Collection in a landmark exhibition of over 1000 works spanning over 150 years. The exhibition highlights Indigenous, African American, and other historically underrepresented artists who shaped the nation’s visual culture.
Stir Restaurant
After the tour we will have lunch at Stir Restaurant, located at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. This stunning Frank Gehry–designed space is the perfect setting for an intimate lunch. Stir’s chef-driven menu features inspired appetizers, signature main dishes ranging from frittatas to hand-torn pastas, and a variety of signature cocktails, wines, and local beers.
Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts
After lunch we will continue to explore A Nation of Artists at PAFA. Guided by five core themes—Prosperity, Abundance, and Inequity; Internationalism and Global Exchange; Looking West; Horizons: Landscapes and Spaces Between; and Geometry, Industry, and the Modern Imagination—A Nation of Artists at Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts reimagines what American art has been and what it can become.
In the afternoon we’ll visit The Independence Hall, where we will follow an exclusive tour of the first- and second-floor galleries, the very rooms where the United States Declaration of Independence was debated and signed 250 years ago.
SATURDAY, APRIL 25TH- Day Two
On day two we will begin at the Barnes Foundation. Freedom Dreams brings together powerful works by artists in film, video, and installation that invite viewers to immerse themselves in the memories, dreams, and histories of Black Americans. The exhibition features works by Arthur Jafa, David Hartt, Garrett Bradley, Ja’Tovia Gary, and Tourmaline, all exploring history, archives, and cultural memory.
Following lunch, we will visit ICA, and tour Entryways by Xenobia Bailey. Bailey transforms ICA’s façade through her multidisciplinary aesthetic, “Funk-tional Design.” These digitized crochet forms draw on histories of Black domestic workers, including the artist’s mother, while embellishing several figures important to African American cultural continuity.
