JOIN US FOR AN ART FILLED DAY TRIP

Visit to the Barnes Foundation, Calder Gardens & Philadelphia Museum of Art

Our day will begin and end in New York and we will travel via luxury transport to Philadelphia. Our day will include a light breakfast at Daily Provisions at 78th St. and Amsterdam Ave then lunch and dinner in Philadelphia.

We will begin our day in at the Barnes Foundation with a tour of Henri Rousseau: A Painter’s Secrets, an exhibition of imaginative landscapes and dreamlike imagery, where art blurs between reality and fantasy.

Following our tour at the Barnes, we’ll head over to the newly opened Calder Gardens. Nestled within a landscape designed by Piet Oudolf and featuring over 250 plant varieties, Calder Gardens includes an 18,000-square-foot building by Herzog & de Meuron that hosts a rotating selection of three generations of Calder family artworks.

We will then have an intimate lunch at the lovely Stir restaurant at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Following lunch we will have a guided tour of the international exhibition Dreamworld: Surrealism at 100. It is a major exhibition celebrating the centenary of the Surrealist movement. The exhibition is the last stop on an exciting tour put together with the Centre Pompidou in Paris , and the PMA is only place in the U.S. where you can see it as the museum explores story of Surrealist art.

Our day of art will continue with dinner a noted restaurant in Philadelphia before heading back by coach to New York.
