The folks behind Noble Rot magazine took over this intimate 1973 wine bar and brought with them a vast selection of underrated and legendary wines that the knowledgeable staff is happy to narrow down for you. The food does not try to impress with its presentation or artfulness, though everything nevertheless looks fresh and scrumptious. Rather, the concise menu offers classics that are meant to go very well with wine, such as oysters, lamb sweetbreads and smoked eel. The unpretentious environment allows you to slip into the worn-in furniture and simply bask in the joys of wining and dining and the buzzing and intimate spirit of a Parisian wine bar.
