Spring Wine Tasting at Corkbuzz Produced by Women Vintners
Women are leaders in every field! The IWEC Foundation, The ALIX Experience and Barbara D’Antonio of Curated Conversations / BD Consulting are co-hosting a wine tasting evening celebrating female leaders in the eld of wine! We will enjoy wines created by women vintners from around the world under the guidance of a female sommelier! Our evening will be held at Union Square’s Corkbuzz which was founded by Master Sommelier, Laura Maniec. Corkbuzz is part wine bar, part wine school, all wrapped up in a cool, casual studio designed to feel like a living room. We will offer the tasting of 6 or more carefully chosen wines to sharpen both your knowledge and palette. They will be accompanied by small tastes to complement the wines.
In 2009 after nearly eight years of intensive study, Ms. Maniec was awarded the Master Sommelier designation, the highest accreditation given to wine professionals. She’s now one of only 24 women sommeliers out of 236 designated Masters worldwide! (If you’ve seen the movie “Somm” you’ll know what a feat this is!) Ms. Maniec’s fresh approach to wine has made Corkbuzz a destination for expert and novice wine drinkers alike.
Recognized as a sommelier and an entrepreneur, Ms. Maniec was nominated as a semi- nalist in the Outstanding Wine Program category for this year’s prestigious James Beard Award. Please join us for this stimulating evening as we wrap up spring and head into summer!
