The New York School: From Abstract Expressionism to Pop

  • Phillips 30 Berkeley Square London W1J 6EX (map)

Timed to tie in with the Royal Academy’s blockbuster exhibition (opening 24th September), we will explore the work of three of the key figures associated with Abstract Expressionism: Mark Rothko, Jackson Pollock and Barnett Newman. We will discuss the history of the movement as a whole and its origins in European art and the American experience. This study morning will be an ideal preparation for visiting the exhibition itself.

Lecturer: Dr Richard Stemp

Price: £80
