We return to Philbrook Museum of Art in Tulsa, Oklahoma and its beautiful Italianate villa and gardens to discover the powerful contemporary exhibition From the Limitations of Now.
Featuring an intergenerational group of artists, the exhibition explores the transformative power of art to address painful chapters of American history and to envision a more just future, particularly in light of the Black Lives Matter movement and the centennial of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. Exhibition curator Sara O’Keeffe will discuss her collaborations with artists and community members to produce art and installations within the Museum’s historic building that invite visitors to engage actively with the forward-looking ideas presented in this project.
