We are seeing more and more French dining treasures crossing the channel to London with the well-known Taillevent brand as a perfect example. Their concept is to provide opportunities to more precisely pair their excellent wine selections with their equally excellent food. Each a la carte dish comes with several wine options and the prix fixe menu, offering two or three courses with wine poured in two sizes, increases the chance of experiencing the coming together of even more flavors. The space is elegantly designed and very welcoming due in part to the choice of materials, which harken to all aspects of wine: oak floors representing the barrels, reproduction of antique etchings of vineyards, green seating reflecting the leaves of the vines and walls of green wine bottles. It is the perfect place to dine before heading to an evening event at Wigmore Hall just a few blocks away or to spend your evening, taking your time for an extended end-of-day meal.
