Art Nouveau and Art Deco
Bookends of WWI
October 16th-23rd, 2025
Many of you have expressed interest in our Art Nouveau tour that celebrates the late 19th/early 20th century period of decorative flourish. However with 2025 being the 100th Anniversary of Art Deco we thought we would look at both as they serve as bookends of the Great War.
TOUR HIGHLIGHTS
The tour will start and end in Paris as we will compare and contrast the sources and impetus that influenced the expression of each decorative movement. Examples of both periods are abundant in Paris with iconic buildings many we may have seen but have yet to know about its respective design history. The tour will be a blend of time in Paris focusing mostly on Art Deco then heading to the Art Nouveau center to Nancy and visits to the Lalique Museum. There will also be important exhibitions and museum collections with guided tours by specialists.
We will be immersed in the delicacy and craftsmanship of great glassmakers. Included will be tours of the Musee Lalique and day trips traveling north and south along the “Glass Route '' with visits to Baccarat, the Crystal Museum of St Louis and viewing glass blowers at work. Our tour will celebrate these times with each stop of our luxe journey being introduced with the guidance and insights of specialists.
