Paris: BELLE EPOQUE & beyond
October 23rd-28th, 2026
6 days 5 nights
This October, we are planning a tour that captures the vibrant energy of Paris, from its rich historical legacy to its contemporary creative spirit. Our tour will introduce guests to the luxury and exquisite beauty of the Belle Epoque era and the Art Nouveau artistic movements.
October is an especially exciting time to experience the city, as Paris comes alive with important art exhibitions and cultural events. Alongside the grandeur and history of the Belle Époque, we will discover significant exhibitions and contemporary work, creating connections between the art and ideas of the past and the creative energies of today.
TOUR HIGHLIGHTS
Our tour will focus on Paris where we will visit museums and collections and stroll the city as we look at signature works of architecture of the period. Our special guided tours will include the Musée d’Orsay to see parts of their decorative arts collection and the famous Hôtel de la Païva which we will enjoy with Charlotte Wilkens, who most of you know. We will also tour “grand magasins” Galleries Lafayette and Printemps - each are “luxe” spaces that set the tone for the best of experience.
We will have a tour of the history of the scandalous side of Paris with visits to historic brothels and noted areas of the city like the Palais Royal and Montmartre home of the Moulin Rouge. Maison Souquet, the home of a once thriving brothel where we will visit and dine! The art of Lautrec and others captures these moments in Paris’ “demi-monde!” Artists captured the gritty, lively bohemian nightlife, dance halls, and cabarets of Montmartre.
Atelier Visits & Workshops
During this tour, we’ll have the opportunity to visit the ateliers and get a behind-the-scenes look at the workshops of renowned maisons such as Baqué Molinié, Maison Lesage, and Van Cleef & Arpels
Modern & Contemporary Visits
Paris continues to be the leading center for modern and contemporary art, particularly in October, and we’ll weave some of the city’s most interesting exhibitions and shows into our visit. The list includes Art Basel, Kerry James Marshall at The Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris, Gustave Fayet at Fondation Louis Vuitton, Spotlight on Photography: From Heritage to Contemporary at the Bourse de Commerce and many more!
