Nestled next to TriBeCa and the Financial District are the buildings of New York City’s government: City Hall, the New York State Supreme Courthouse and the Municipal Building. Dating back to the l9th century,  exterior and interior of the building are worthy of a time to pause and explore. Each building holds an architectural gem – from the murals of the Surrogate Court building to the to of the Municipal building. The surrounding parks are often filled with sculpture and by day you will find people in business attire, security guards, and by night it quiets down substantially. Visit the City Hall Park Visitor Information Kiosk for visitor information, including maps and directions from multilingual staff and look on the ALIX calendar for the time for tours given by New York Chapter of the AIA.
