Childhood friends Julien Lombrail and Loic Le Gaillard opened their first contemporary art and design gallery in 2006 in London’s Chelsea neighborhood in a former carpenter’s workshop, hence the name. It now has locations in London, Paris and New York. The gallery showcases works of both emerging and established artists and designers on an international scale. The end result is a vast program of changing exhibitions showcasing sophisticated objects, both functional and decorative, which highlight how beautiful design intersects with daily life.
