A former bank building directly across the street from the Royal Exchange houses three distinct dining experiences: the Brasserie, which offers comfort food with an emphasis on pasta and salads, 1776 Restaurant, a more formal and traditional venue that includes a beef carvery trolley, and Dome Bar, best for a well made cocktail and light bar snacks, is situated under the centerpiece of a marvelous domed skylight designed by Italian architect Pietro Agostini.  Each experience succeeds in providing solid service, cocktails and food. Most menus have daily specials and the chef makes use of fresh seasonal produce.  One Lombard is an active and popular after-work spot so plan on rolling in early if The Dome bar is your choice.
