Story of the Neighborhood . . .

Further north along the East River is ultra-trendy Williamsburg, an area that has repurposed its industrial history with street art adorning building façades. The influential hub of indie rock and hipster culture, Williamsburg has attracted artists and musicians since the 1970-80s as gentrification and high rents took over SoHo and the East Village. Today, it continues to thrive as a home to many arts organizations, live music venues and business incubators for new brands. Williamsburg’s main street, Bedford Ave, which also happens to be closest to Manhattan, is filled with trendy restaurants, bars, cafes and clothing stores.
