Originally a Tudor palace constructed in 1549, Somerset House was rebuilt 200 years later as a beautiful Neoclassical palace and remains the last grand mansion from the once iconic estate-lined thoroughfare. Somerset House hosts a series of cultural events all year long. The Courtauld Gallery, also located within Somerset House, is renowned for its unrivaled collection of Impressionist and post-Impressionist paintings.
