This ALIX tour offers a day-long experience in Philadelphia highlighting the Barnes Foundation, with an additional visit to the world-class Philadelphia Art Museum. Our day will begin and end in New York and we will travel via luxury transport to Philadelphia.

We return to Philbrook Museum of Art in Tulsa, Oklahoma and its beautiful Italianate villa and gardens to discover the powerful contemporary exhibition From the Limitations of Now.  

Featuring an intergenerational group of artists, the exhibition explores the transformative power of art to address painful chapters of American history and to envision a more just future, particularly in light of the Black Lives Matter movement and the centennial of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre.

The fascinating exhibition Views of Greenwood presents photographs of the historically Black neighborhood of Greenwood, just outside downtown Tulsa. This thriving district, once known as “Black Wall Street,” was all but destroyed in the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. After rebuilding in the following years, it was disrupted again by urban renewal in the 1960s and 1970s. Views of Greenwood presents nearly fifty photographs by three Oklahoma artists who, over the last fifty years, have explored change, loss, and resilience within the neighborhood.

Join ALIX and Cultured Forest for a second edition of Forest Bathing! Following the enthusiastic response to the first safe and socially-distanced event last October, we invite you to join us in exploring another part of the park! This one hour guided experience will take place in Central Park and begin at the 72nd street entrance where we will be met by Brooke.

As one of the most celebrated art destinations, the show allows the public to discover a wide range of important Modern and contemporary works of art.

We invite Paris-based ALIX friends and those visiting Paris to join us for a cooking class at Eataly in the Marais. Picking up on the enthusiasm of the Da Vinci exhibition at the Louvre, our evening of cooking and dining will be a Leonardo Da Vinci inspired menu filled with several Florentine specialties.

With the holiday season fast approaching, we invite ALIX members to enjoy a special workshop celebrating the central themes of the many winter holidays: feast, community, and hope for peace.

Work life-balance is always a challenge and having the time to fix a great meal at home is always better than pulling out your take out menu! Gail has been immersed in the world of food for over 25 years – as a teacher and author – she will lead a lively group in creating a delicious dining experience in under 2 hours!

ALIX has put together a wonderful evening beginning with a tour of the exhibition, followed by dinner at Robert, on the top floor of the museum. We know how much our members and guests enjoy these museum evenings and we hope that you will be able to join us in late September!

Our tour begins and ends in Paris, and what better starting point to explore France’s art, culture food and wine! Based at a 5-star hotel, our days in Paris will be filled with tours of museums, galleries and artists’ studios. Paris will serve as bookends to historic France - the Loire Valley - with its spectacular chateaux and vineyards, where we will stay at a historic wine estate, Chateau Soucherie.

England has a great tradition in the modernist art movemesters such as Ben Nicholson and Barbara Hepworth working during post WWII years. Few willdoubt the center stage and London in particular has taken within contemporary art with major forces such as Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin and Cris Offili! We will bridge both worlds - modern and contemporary - with special behind the scenes experiences and exhibition previews to create a memorable tour.

Carmen is based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and gives workshops and private lessons internationally.

ALIX is planning an exciting guided tour of Frida Kahlo: Appearances Can Be Deceiving at the Brooklyn Museum. We recently visited the exhibition and thought it was fabulous! This Frida Kahlo show is unique in that it displays not only her artwork, but her personal objects and clothing.

Edible Excursions really captures so many dimensions of culinary culture of San Francisco and allows tour members to be immersed in a wide range of flavors and tastes. For this tour, ALIX members will be able to combine a hands-on and tasting experiences as you will see how award-winning bartenders transform fresh produce and house-made liqueurs to take classic cocktail recipes to new heights.

Paris Photo is another international moment in the art world with a focus on the photographic medium Collectors, professionals, artists, and enthusiasts come to Paris Photo as it provides the opportunity to see the most qualitative and diverse selection of artworks alongside an ambitious public programme with leading figures in the field. 

ALIX is planning a super fun evening and invites you to attend a tour of the amazing David Bowie Is exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum. We just saw the show and were totally entranced with Bowie’s genius yet again! The exhibition pulses with his music, his art, his storyboards for performances, videos, and of course those amazing costumes!

London comes to New York with the Frieze Art Fair at Randall’s Island! It’s one of the best contemporary art fairs to come to town, having been a well-established venue in London since 2003!ALIX offers a late afternoon tour of Frieze Art Fair, with Paul Vinet, an art historian and artist.

AKAA – ALSO KNOWN AS AFRICA is in its second year and is the first art fair devoted to contemporary art and design from Africa to be organized in Paris.

ALIX has partnered with Lynne Staartjes, founder of Sweet Tooth Tours, for a curated tour of the best sweets that London has to offer. We will visit several local spots, such as a macaron degustation at a famous Parisian patisserie and a chocolate tasting at a British chocolatier, throughout the tour and end with a cheese and wine pairing! 

It’s always a special time Paris when FIAC, the contemporary art  fair brings art from around the world. Once again, ALIX is delighted to present our two part evening with a private tour of the Marais art galleries followed by dinner and then a private tour of the fair the following day! Our Paris-based art experts will be your guide along with a small group of ALIX members and friends.

Under the guidance of Marcia Wang Shibata, workshop participants will learn to create ower arrangements, and experience Kado as a creative and meditative dance with nature, space, and perception. Like meditation, Kado teaches us to really look at what is before us. Marcia works with students throughout the world and we are fortunate to be able to have an intimate evening.
